Dear Brenda and all,
Tashi Delek and warm greetings to all of you. I am sorry for not writing to you all for long time due to my busy schedules and overload work here at our office and monastery. Now we are all much free and we have resumed our office work to full force.
With the blessings of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and his boundless kindness for all of us, Sera Je Drati Khangtsen had moved a giant leap ahead and I am also very happy to be able to contribute a little from my side to lead a wonderful team to start the rebuilding of Drati Khangtsen.
Drati Khangtsen was one of major Khangtsen of Sera Je Monastery in Tibet before 1959 and even after that in India; we are one of the major institutions imparting modern and traditional educations to all the monks. The details of our history and all the news will be up on our site soon www.drati.org(The site is presently under construction)
Due to the financial constraints, we face a lot of hardships for many years not being able to provide quality educations, accommodations and food to all our young Sanghas. We started rebuilding all since 2005 after the advice of Lama Zopa Rinpoche and support from some disciples of Rinpoche. Our New Prayer Hall was inaugurated on 4th march 2009 by Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche and it was the greatest and most important day for all of us.
The monks' sponsorship program is one of most effective way to support and sustain the lives of hundreds of young monks here. We are all overjoyed when you all pay us a kind visit to our New Prayer Hall and your kind willingness to find sponsors for our young monks. Now you have already find sponsors for many monks.
We have a special team of two young monks lead by two senior administrators who work for the sponsorship program, keeping contacts with sponsors and supervise the sponsorship money. We also have a special rules for how to young monks use the sponsorship money in order to benefit the most for their education.
In short, we are all very thankful to all of you for your kindness and help for the young children of Drati Khangtsen. We are looking forward to keep in constant touch with all of you.
Tulku Tenzin Gyurmey Rinpoche
